Your Visit to The Odyssey School
Frequently Asked Questions by Visiting Students
1. Who will meet me at school?
You will be met by the Admissions Director, Ms. Nesbitt, and a student "buddy."
2. What will I do all day?
Your student buddy will stay with you throughout the day, introduce you to teachers and other students, take you to classes and answer your questions.
3. What classes will I attend?
You will follow the same schedule as your buddy. This will include tutoring which will be a class of 2 students! Depending on the day, you might have art, music, technology or physical education.
4. Will the classes be large?
Our classes are very small-there will be no more than 11 students in a class.
5. Will I have to read aloud in front of people?
Absolutely not! No one will ask you to do anything that makes you uncomfortable.
6. Do I need to bring lunch?
Yes, please bring a lunch and a snack. We have snack every day at The Odyssey School. It is a great time to talk with your classmates and teacher. Many students bring crackers, cheese, fruit, pretzels, juice or water, but please- no soda or candy.
7. Does Odyssey have recess?
You will have several chances to exercise at Odyssey! Besides recess after lunch and P. E., we have an exercise break in the morning. You might participate in soccer, dancing, aerobics, and walking.
8. What should I wear?
You might feel most comfortable dressing according to our dress code, although this is a decision for you and your parents. Lower Schoolers wear navy or khaki pants, a collared shirt (white, navy or evergreen) and a sweatshirt (navy, khaki, evergreen or gray.) Middle School boys wear ties and solid button- down dress shirts. Tennis shoes are fine.
