Summer Camp at The Odyssey School
The summer camp morning session offers children entering 1st grade through 8th grade the opportunity for specialized reading and writing instruction tailored to meet the individual needs of the students. Odyssey's summer camp teachers are highly trained and experienced in developing children's reading and writing skills to ensure success in the coming school year. Summer Camp at The Odyssey School is an enriching and creative program offering instruction in writing and reading in the morning, and games, sports, and outdoor discovery in the afternoon!
Children diagnosed with dyslexia or other language learning differences are welcome to attend.
Writers and Creators Workshop
The Writers and Creators Workshop provides children with language learning differences the opportunity to discover exciting new ways to view the writing process. We offer small classroom settings with highly skilled faculty in the areas of language arts, creative writing and art.
We value our students’ vibrant imaginations, and encourage them to express themselves through a variety of mediums including poetry, short stories, comic strips, and songwriting.
By the end of our intensive five week program, our students will have many beautiful pieces of art to take home, as well as the confidence, skills, and independence to succeed in their future writing endeavors.
Reading and Writing Tutoring
In addition to the Writers and Creators Workshop, students will have a portion of the morning devoted to individualized
instruction in reading using specialized, research based and multi-sensory approaches.
Tutors are highly trained in teaching reading to children diagnosed with dyslexia or other language learning differences. The 1:1 or1:2 tutor student teaching ratio provides the opportunity for intensive, personalized reading instruction for every child.
