Director of Outreach Kate McElderry Launches Debut Novella
Odyssey’s Director of Outreach and language tutor, Kate McElderry, has published her debut young adult novella, Declan Someone (The Journey of Declan Noone).
Inspired by her own neurodiversity, her students, and time spent writing in Ireland, McElderry’s story explores themes of identity and belonging, and to "rediscover what it means to belong—not just to a place or people but to oneself.”
The book’s release was celebrated last week at The Ivy Bookshop, where McElderry was joined in conversation by Odyssey’s former Head of School, Marty Sweeney.
