Katie Clark Named Odyssey's Assistant Head of Early Learning and Lower School
Congratulations to Katie Clark on being named Odyssey's first Assistant Head of Early Learning and Lower School.
Katie Clark has been an integral part of the Odyssey community for 13 years and has contributed in countless ways throughout her tenure—including serving as a language teacher, social studies teacher, and tutor. Moving forward, she will support the school's Heads of Early Learning and Lower School.
"Katie is known and valued for her creativity, her willingness to jump in and help in any situation, and her excellent communication. She fully embraces Odyssey’s culture, and we look forward to welcoming her into this new role," shared Laurie TerBeek, Interim Head of School.

What is your favorite Odyssey tradition and why?
My favorite Odyssey tradition is Fall Into Reading. It is so much fun to see the hallway transform, all of the pumpkins decorated, and most importantly, the students' excitement to get reading!
What makes Odyssey's approach to teaching and learning meaningful to you personally?
Odyssey's approach to learning is so highly specialized and unique. After working at Odyssey for such a long time, I have seen unbelievable transformations in our students, not only with their skills, but with their confidence!
What excites you most about supporting both students and faculty in this new way?
After serving in the classroom and tutoring room for many years, I am excited to bring that perspective to planning events, building relationships with even more Odyssey families, and being available to assist faculty as needs arise.
What brings you joy during a school day?
The most joyful thing about being with our Early Learners and Lower School students is watching our faculty create lessons and spaces that make learning magical. The engagement and wonder that comes from these experiences are what Odyssey is all about.
