Odyssey Welcomes New Director of Finance, Jeremy Myers, CPA

Join us in welcoming Mr. Jeremy Myers, CPA, as Odyssey’s new Director of Finance. Jeremy Myers brings a wealth of experience in managing finances for both educational and nonprofit institutions. He previously served as the Director of Finance at Oldfields School and as the Controller at The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore.

Myers is dedicated to using his extensive accounting experience to serve Odyssey’s families, faculty, and administration. Read on to get to know Mr. Myers and discover what inspired him to join Odyssey’s team. We are confident that his leadership will make a positive impact on our school community.

How has your past experience prepared you to take on this new role?
The technical and practical knowledge I have accrued (yes, lame accounting terminology) over my professional career has landed me at The Odyssey School. My experience specifically at Oldfields School has helped me understand school operations, including admissions, fundraising, and academics.

What excites you most about this new role?
I love to be part of something bigger than myself, which is why I have stayed the non-profit/education path. As everyone already knows, and as I found out quickly, The Odyssey School is a special place for all involved. I am excited to learn more about the impact that The Odyssey School has on our students.

What do you want Odyssey's families to know about the business office?
The Business Office is here to support our faculty, administration, and families of The Odyssey School. We don’t exist without any of these pieces and customer service is an important aspect of our role. We hope to get to know everyone in the coming school year.

What inspired you to join Odyssey's team?
I could feel the warm, inviting culture the second that I walked in the door. I am excited to be part of a thriving school that sticks to its mission.

What is your favorite book?
The Keeper: A Life of Saving Goals and Achieving Them by Tim Howard.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Baseball, soccer, music, comedy and movies.
