Free Language and Literacy Screening

Recognizing the compelling research that highlights the importance of early identification of students’ needs and the potency of early intervention, Odyssey seeks opportunities to identify students as young as four and five years old who are at risk for reading failure.

The Odyssey School offers free screenings for early language and literacy skills and signs of reading difficulty. Odyssey uses highly trained, certified and experienced professionals to provide this free service to children who are four to eight years of age.

The screening can indicate whether a child is exhibiting specific difficulties in reading and language development. The screening does not provide an official diagnosis but can indicate if further testing is beneficial. General recommendations and information regarding early warning signs will be provided for parents

If your child demonstrates difficulty with acquiring reading and literacy skills and shows early signs of reading difficulty, a screening would be a helpful tool. We offer screenings October through April.
