The Odyssey School offers a certification training course in the research-based Phono-Graphix® reading method, a program which promotes the instruction of phonological awareness skills while simultaneously teaching the alphabetic code via multi-sensory lessons. This five day course provides theoretical background, lesson demonstrations, hands-on activities, and practice lessons. This year the course will be held June 21 – 25, 2021, Monday - Thursday 8:30 am - 4:00 pm, Friday 8:30 am - noon. The course is presented by Marcia Peterson, M.S., CCC-SLP and Sarah Brown, M.S., CCC-SLP. Tuition for the course is $800. The purchase of Phono-Graphix® materials, at a cost of $395, is also required for each participant.

Following the course, trainees take an online examination. The greater proportion of the training is spent in demonstrating and practicing techniques that can be used when working with students. Completing the course and passing the online exam will enable one to become a certified Phono-Graphix® Reading Therapist.
