Speaker Series

Lindsay Dryden Speaker Series

Each year, the Lindsay Dryden Speaker Series has brought compelling speakers to The Odyssey School. Parents, psychologists, admission directors, learning specialists and heads of schools from schools and dyslexia affiliated organizations attend these presentations. Notable speakers have included Dr. Bob Brooks, Dr. John Ratey, Dr. Rick Lavoie, Dr. Ed Hallowell, Dr. Angela Duckworth, Dr. John Gabrieli, and 2015 presenter Dr. Russell Barkley.

We are excited to announce that our 2020 Lindsay Dryden Speaker will be Emily Hanford.

Emily is a senior education correspondent at American RadioWorks Reports, part of American Public Media.  She has been working in public media for more than two decades as a reporter, producer, editor, news director, and program host.

Emily has produced several documentaries focusing on dyslexia, including “Hard to Read: How American schools fail kids with dyslexia” and “At a Loss for Words: How a flawed idea is teaching millions of kids to be poor readers.”

We hope you’ll join us for this virtual presentation on Tuesday, November 10 at 7 p.m.

We All Learn Speaker Series

This event, held annually in October, is a partnership with Stevenson University's Kappa Delta Pi honor society. Each year, we welcome a prominent speaker for a presentation intended to engage and connect a community of professionals, parents, and college students, sharing the same commitment and passion for educating students with language learning differences.
