Summer Camp

Summer Camp 2025
June 30 - August 1, 2025

The Camp Application will be available on Monday, January 6 at 3:00 P.m.

Summer Camp at The Odyssey School is an enriching and creative program offering instruction in writing, math, and reading in the morning, and games, sports, and outdoor discovery in the afternoon!

Odyssey's summer camp teachers are highly trained and experienced in developing children's reading and writing skills to ensure success in the coming school year.

Morning Session

The summer camp morning session offers current kindergartners through 6th graders the opportunity for specialized reading and writing instruction tailored to meet the individual needs of the students.

The Writers and Creators Workshop

This 2-hour hands-on creative writing and art workshop provides children with language learning differences the opportunity to discover exciting new ways to view the writing process. We offer small classroom settings with highly skilled faculty in the areas of language arts, creative writing and art.

We value our students’ vibrant imaginations, and encourage them to express themselves through a variety of mediums including poetry, animated movie making, comic strips, and songwriting.

By the end of our intensive five week program, our students will have many beautiful pieces of art to take home, as well as the confidence, skills, and independence to succeed in their future writing endeavors.

Reading and Writing Tutoring

In addition to the Writers and Creators Workshop, students will have a portion of the morning devoted to individualized instruction in reading using specialized, research based and multisensory approaches.

Tutors are highly trained in teaching reading to children diagnosed with dyslexia or other language learning differences. The 1:1 or 1:2 tutor student teaching ratio provides the opportunity for intensive, personalized reading instruction for every child.

Math Workshop

Small group, forty-five minute sessions of math offer campers the opportunity to develop their strengths for math fact fluency, math vocabulary, and comprehension of word problems. Each day, campers will be applying their creative thinking and reasoning skills in multisensory activities and logic/problem solving games that bolster their number sense, reasoning, and problem solving strategies.

The math instructor is a veteran educator who has had direct experience teaching math across the grade levels to students with language learning differences.
